Baby Gear Advice for Race Day

We love heading down to Daytona a few times a year for the big races. But as a parent of infants, even a daytrip can seem like an expedition. Here’s some advice about how to cope with your baby’s needs at an all-hours trip to the track.

1. For the hot part of the day, bring some coolbags in the cooler that you can wrap in a towel. These are crucial and work great with the usual shadeguards.

2. Consider some extra baby blankets in case you need to feed in public and can’t find more privacy. Feeding in public is totally legal, but it’s nice to be discrete.

3. Twice as many fluids as you think you’ll need. Trust me.

4. Convince your husband to carry some of the baby gear! There are some very masculine-looking diaper bags out there now that will pass the test.

Permanently mark your keys

Key stamps can be used to identify or code keys for cars, trucks, boat and other vehicles. Custom stamps code vehicle keys to tell one from another. Key stamps can also mark items in inventory with a company logo.

Safety for infant travel

It’s the holidays which means there are more people on the roads than usual. New parents have to get used to traveling with their babies if they are going to survive this mad dash for family life across the country’s inter-state roads.

Before heading for the entrance ramps, make sure the infant car seat is up to specs. Is it properly locked into the seat? Are the seat belts latching properly? These two things are often set up wrong, especially if carelessly installed.

Every parent knows that infants will sleep through the car trip if they are tucked into their baby travel blanket. But to make sure you parents sleep well at night too, do a safety check every time you buckle up.

Not only will you end up spending more money than if you bought them on the web, but your selection will also be much smaller.
