What an extended warranty can do for you and your car?

After you have selected a car, the next thing that comes into your mind is the warranty offered to you. The car dealer or the car manufacturer will provide you with the warranty which may differ from five to ten years or may even extend up to 10 years. The coverage for mileage are 50, 000 miles to 1, 00, 000 miles. But you need an extra protection if you are not selling off your car within the warranty period. This extra protection is called extended vehicle warranty which is used to cover your car damages after your previous warranty period is over.

The extended warranty period ranges between two to five years. The extended warranties are meant to prolong the life of the old warranty and so you should make sure that the extension provides you coverage for a long term. A bumper to bumper coverage is provided by the first warranty. This coverage is applicable when your car breaks down during a warranty period. You will be getting a total free replacement of the car. But oil changes and maintenance are not under this cover. Free tune ups, oil changes and other maintenance processes can be covered by an extended warranty. Coverage of the air bags and seat belts for a period of five years is a mandatory obligation in the eyes of law.

But costs will be incurred to you as deductibles. The amount of payment will depend on the extended warranty plan that you have chosen. It is better to secure an extended warranty directly from the companies who are not the subcontractors of any other company. These sub -contractor companies would charge you more to compensate their expenses of sub- contracting from the other companies. If you follow my advice then I am sure that you will make a wise decision on buying an extended auto warranty.
